I’ve been feeling a bit lazy to update this blog.
Aye, bad sign!Anyway, I’m unemployed now & loving my life. My last day of work for HP at SGX Centre was on 30th April.

Goodbye to the familiarity of working in the CBD. Goodbye my Funny Man Alvin. Goodbye Mrs Veggie-loving Rachel. Goodbye Busy Bee Swee Fun. Goodbye Goofy 3rd Floor Daniel. Goodbye Mrs Chatterbox Wee Li. Goodbye My Cute-but-married Chinese-Indian Eye Candy Edmund Ong (Sorry, no pictures of him. I pray he never reads this!). Goodbye My Trusy Ol’ Fujitsu Laptop with no INTERNET CONNECTION! (Please don’t ask me why it isn’t HP). Goodbye my Temporary SGX Pass. Goodbye Squeaky Clean Washrooms that were my occasional sleeping quarters. Goodbye Mr Old Man whom I keep bumping into in the CBD. You’ll be missed. I have a secret photo of my office. Apparently, no photo-taking is allowed in SGX Centre offices, but who really cares?
Overall, it was an enriching virgin work experience. At least now I know I’m not keen on undertaking a desk-bound job in the future. I still can’t fathom how I managed to survive through 3 & a half months of mundane IT data entry/document formatting/spreadsheet tabulation work. I was so convinced that I wouldn't last through 2 months in the job, but nevertheless, I did! I did enjoyed the times when I had to check on people on behalf of my lovely boss Alvin :) Anyway, I’m pretty sure my co-workers were pleasantly surprised that I endured through my contract term. HAH! It’s a pity though that I did not mingle much with the younger workers in the office. But, I guess I would not have clicked with many of them. Many of them were either Ah Beng wannabes or perverted men who seem to have withdrawal symptoms from working in a female-deprived environment.
So, with that, I end my journey at SGX-HP. Time for me to indulge in a well-deserved break!
It seems like 2007 is my lucky year. So many marvelously strange things have happened to me this year. First, I had quite a few high-paying temporary job offers, of which many I rejected. Next, it was my astounding A-Level results. Oh trust me, I was in utter disbelief for the entire day. Then, I won some funny prize from CapitaMall. This month, I received acceptance letters from NUS Business School and NTU’s School Of Communications :) To top it off, I’m also one of the most unlikely winners for the W Factor Contest organized by SPH’s Urban & Wisma Atria. Yeah, I’m going to be one of the 8 proud owners of a Bang & Olufsen S$1200 Mp3 Player & a S$200 Wisma Atria Shopping Voucher, of which I’m treating qian to a mini shopping spree! But, there is supposedly some photoshoot in the week after next that I’m not looking forward to. Why can’t they just throw me the FREEBIES & leave me alone? HAHA!
Actually, on second thought, 2007 may be a not-so-happy year for me as many of my dear friends may be going overseas for further education :( Looks like I NEED to try to spend as much time as possible with my lovely friends, just in case they really do leave. BAH! I hate farewells.
On a more upbeat note, it’s
14 days until my Europe trip. Hopefully, everything goes as planned on my travel agent’s side.
UPDATE: No photoshoot for me, since I'll be going to Europe on the day itself. At least I get to keep the prizes. Phew!
