NUS BUSINESS, here I come!

I'm sure many of you may be surprised by my decision. Well, all I can say is that it was a VERY TOUGH, but calculated decision. I was literally having major palpitations as I pressed the 'Submit' button. Aye, rejecting my place at NTU Comm Studies was a huge heartbreak for me okay! But... there's no turning back now. I know I'll live with my decision. Anyone who's heading for NUS BUSINESS, please give me a buzz.

Anyway, Bodyjam lesson with qian at the gym yesterday was amusing, really amusing. I should go back some time next month & do it again.

Well, this is my last entry before I head for my EURO 2007 trip! My sister, Mixue & I are looking forward to tagging along with married couples on their first/second honeymoons. I never knew it can be a hassle to plan a 2-week wardrobe, but it just has to be done. Oh, did I mention that I'll be transitting at Doha?! How extremely exotic :B

So, it's Adieu Singapur (for now), Bonjour Italie, la Suisse & la France!

To my dear friends especially NGAI QIANLI: You'll be missed! Enjoy youself in Tokyo, QIANLI! I'll see ya'll in 15 days. I'm so watching Pirates Of The Caribbean 3 when I return!

I shall leave you with some pictures to sum up my month of May.

I was taking an afternoon stroll down blistering Boat Quay with my sister & something caught out eyes.

It was the signboard of this tattoo shop called "Spirits Of Tattoo". The signboard read:

Spirits Of Tattoo -
The spirit of the person getting the tattoo

Very amusing indeed.

Please tell me what purpose does their slogan serve?

Oh, met up with my GOLDEN GIRLS aka clara, esther & jamie. It feels great catching up on lost time together. A pity it wasn't our photogenic day, so all the photos we snapped turned out like crap. Anyway, to GGs: LET'S MEET UP ONCE I RETURN FROM EUROPE OKAY :) Love.

Soon, it will be crunch time for me. I'll have to decide on the course I wish to pursue in the university. Whatever it is, I hope I do make the right choice, or I'll probably live in regret for the next 10 years. HAHA!

Why is it that the people I hope would call/message me never do? Why, please tell me why?

As much as I dislike rambling about studies, I just simply can't purge the thoughts of it out of my mind right now. I'm in such a mind-boggling dilemma over what to pursue in the university.

I've reached a crossroad & I know I'll inevitably have to choose - Business Administration in NUS or Communication Studies in NTU?!

One wrong move and my life MAY be changed forever. Some of you might not necessarily share my sentiment, but I am sure you'll at least agree that it would more or less decide your career path for the next 5-10 years of your life upon graduation. I really do not want to be haunted by a decision that I made at 18 when I embark on my journey into the working world.

In all frankness, I've always thought it would be a clear-cut decision. My stand has been COMMUNICATIONS from the get-go. However, when you are placed in the position where you have, what many people view, a better option to opt for, oh trust me, you would undoubtedly have second thoughts about your original plan in life.

My heart tells me to pursue Communication Studies, but my head tells me to choose Business. The former is where my passion definitely lies and where I would probably have a more fun and enriching experience throughout my university life. However, the latter would provide me with more attractive job prospects and more chances to meet -ahem- certain people. HAHA! Should passion be the ultimate factor in deciding my course of study? That's the question I have yet to find an answer for. And NUS, being a more prestigious university just makes my decision all the more difficult.

Drats, I hate making such hefty decisions. I know this is simply part and parcel of being a typical indecisive & analytical Libran that likes to over-think things. My indecisiveness is one trait I'm so determined to eradicate as time passes. HAHA! I love how studying the Sun signs and astrology can affect your life and allow you to understand yourself better.

Anyway, to anyone reading this, please help me! I'm in desperate need of some enlightenment with regards to this issue. Any advice for me? I'll have to make my decision before I leave for Europe on 18th May, which is next Friday!

Oh no...

Well, at least you'll not hear me mention about anything remotely related to university applications once I return from Europe on 1st June (: Europe, Europe, Europe, I can't wait! Less whiny-Shu-Ann times ahead for everyone. Hooray!

Maroon 5 - Makes Me Wonder

After #%$^@*%^&#% years, Maroon 5 finally has a new album! Their new single actually sounds uncharacteristically Maroon5-ish, but nevertheless, is still worth a listen. Adam Levine = My Kind Of HOT STUFF. Then again, he's probably every girl's kind of HOT STUFF. HAH!

Aye, I think I'm having an entry overload.

This is what boredom does to people who have all the free time in the world.

Oh, Paris Hilton is sentenced to 45 days in the clink. What a shocker!

Edwin McCain writes such beautiful and heart-warming lyrics. I just simply could not resist, but to share it with everyone :) I would kill for my future boyfriend/fiance/husband to serenade me with this song every single day.

I could not ask for more than this time together
I could not ask for more than this time with you
Every prayer has been answered
Every dream I have has come true
And right here in this moment is right where I'm meant to be
Here with you, here with me

I could not ask for more than the love you give me
Cos it's all I've waited for
And I could not ask for more
I could not ask for more

Pure sweetness.

I’ve been feeling a bit lazy to update this blog. Aye, bad sign!

Anyway, I’m unemployed now & loving my life. My last day of work for HP at SGX Centre was on 30th April.

DSC03876DSC03885DSC03883DSC03879DSC03874DSC03888DSC03913DSC03908

Goodbye to the familiarity of working in the CBD. Goodbye my Funny Man Alvin. Goodbye Mrs Veggie-loving Rachel. Goodbye Busy Bee Swee Fun. Goodbye Goofy 3rd Floor Daniel. Goodbye Mrs Chatterbox Wee Li. Goodbye My Cute-but-married Chinese-Indian Eye Candy Edmund Ong (Sorry, no pictures of him. I pray he never reads this!). Goodbye My Trusy Ol’ Fujitsu Laptop with no INTERNET CONNECTION! (Please don’t ask me why it isn’t HP). Goodbye my Temporary SGX Pass. Goodbye Squeaky Clean Washrooms that were my occasional sleeping quarters. Goodbye Mr Old Man whom I keep bumping into in the CBD. You’ll be missed. I have a secret photo of my office. Apparently, no photo-taking is allowed in SGX Centre offices, but who really cares?

Overall, it was an enriching virgin work experience. At least now I know I’m not keen on undertaking a desk-bound job in the future. I still can’t fathom how I managed to survive through 3 & a half months of mundane IT data entry/document formatting/spreadsheet tabulation work. I was so convinced that I wouldn't last through 2 months in the job, but nevertheless, I did! I did enjoyed the times when I had to check on people on behalf of my lovely boss Alvin :) Anyway, I’m pretty sure my co-workers were pleasantly surprised that I endured through my contract term. HAH! It’s a pity though that I did not mingle much with the younger workers in the office. But, I guess I would not have clicked with many of them. Many of them were either Ah Beng wannabes or perverted men who seem to have withdrawal symptoms from working in a female-deprived environment.

So, with that, I end my journey at SGX-HP. Time for me to indulge in a well-deserved break!

It seems like 2007 is my lucky year. So many marvelously strange things have happened to me this year. First, I had quite a few high-paying temporary job offers, of which many I rejected. Next, it was my astounding A-Level results. Oh trust me, I was in utter disbelief for the entire day. Then, I won some funny prize from CapitaMall. This month, I received acceptance letters from NUS Business School and NTU’s School Of Communications :) To top it off, I’m also one of the most unlikely winners for the W Factor Contest organized by SPH’s Urban & Wisma Atria. Yeah, I’m going to be one of the 8 proud owners of a Bang & Olufsen S$1200 Mp3 Player & a S$200 Wisma Atria Shopping Voucher, of which I’m treating qian to a mini shopping spree! But, there is supposedly some photoshoot in the week after next that I’m not looking forward to. Why can’t they just throw me the FREEBIES & leave me alone? HAHA!

Actually, on second thought, 2007 may be a not-so-happy year for me as many of my dear friends may be going overseas for further education :( Looks like I NEED to try to spend as much time as possible with my lovely friends, just in case they really do leave. BAH! I hate farewells.

On a more upbeat note, it’s 14 days until my Europe trip. Hopefully, everything goes as planned on my travel agent’s side.

UPDATE: No photoshoot for me, since I'll be going to Europe on the day itself. At least I get to keep the prizes. Phew!
